  1. Why don't Volvo cars offer the option to simultaneously display both the rear camera view and the 360-degree view in a split screen when reversing? It can be frustrating to switch between them manually. Every other car brand provides this feature, so it would be great to see it in Volvo models too.

  3. Dear Volvo,

The new advertisement Volvo shared on YouTube for their new car is almost identical to the "Moments" commercial they released in 2017. Instead of presenting a new scenario, they've revised and re-released an already successful, era-defining ad. I really admire Volvo's advertisements and believe they are definitely a source of inspiration. The storyline of this ad has some very thoughtful points. However, when compared to the 2017 ad, as you also know, it shares a lot of similarities. Yes, the technology in the vehicle is amazing and truly significant for our lives and moments, but for such a revolutionary car, I expected a more creative, never-before-seen, unforgettable ad.

In fact, the "Meet the new Volvo XC90" and "Rise and Shine – Volvo EX90" commercials are definitely creative and carry the essence of the Volvo brand. They give off a genuine sense of newness that this ad unfortunately lacks.

I wanted to share this comment because I know you value feedback. Thank you for everything.

  4. Dear Volvo,

Your commitment to safety and raising the standards for the entire industry has always been laudable and beyond reproach. The collision avoidance tech in your latest cars lives up to your own high standard – EXCEPT for the lack of physical buttons and knobs for the commonly used features.

Using a touchscreen for everything is a really really bad idea, I am sure your own UX engineers are aware of the fact that physical controls are better than doing everything via a touchscreen. Sure of navigation and less used features use the giant screen, but for the controls that are fiddled with frequently such as HVAC and audio, why remove buttons/knobs?

And I get that you would want to make yourself appear more premium. Trust me, getting rid of controls and consolidating everything in a single large screen does not look premium, it appears as a tryhard move. I would be much more inclined to buy a Volvo instead of say a Lexus if you differentiated your cabin and dashboard through the use of premium materials including for example beautifully crafted aluminum controls – buttons, dials, switches – etc – to give the true luxury feeling.

Honestly – to summarize: slapping on a giant Ipad in the middle of the dashboard looks seriously ugly and uncool. Have a better integrated screen for navigation and obscure controls, and ensure actual physical buttons which primarily improves safety in NOT having to look at the screen for every single action, and can also be made to look very elegant and beautiful by being actually beautifully crafted rather than the standard plastic controls lower tier cars have.
